Tomás Moro Wins 1st Place in EF Challenge 2026 Ecuador

During an emotional School Assembly, our school had the honor of welcoming Carolina Jaramillo, EF Manager, who delivered heartfelt words of congratulations before presenting a commemorative plaque to the school and the First Place Certificate to our student, Isabela Mignac.

We are proud to announce that Isabela, a senior student at Tomás Moro International School, was crowned Winner of the EF Challenge 2026 – Ecuador Regional Competition.

This year’s challenge invited participants to answer the inspiring question: “What dream do you have that will make a positive impact on others?”

The competition was held at the UDLA Auditorium and brought together an audience of more than 400 people. From an initial pool of 180 candidates who submitted video entries, only 30 finalists were selected to present their speeches live before a panel of judges and the audience, maintaining the original content of their videos while adding their own creative performance style.

Before captivating the judges live on stage, Isabela started her journey with a powerful video presentation that earned her a spot among the top finalists nationwide. We invite our entire community to watch the incredible video entry that launched her to the finals, showcasing the early stages of her inspiring message.

The event lasted over four hours and showcased exceptional talent from students across the country. Isabela stood out for her outstanding command of the English language, the clarity and articulation of her speech, and, above all, the authenticity and emotion she conveyed in her presentation, “The Courage to Feel.”

Her message resonated deeply with both the judges and the audience. Following the announcement of the results, judges personally approached Isabela, her parents, and representatives of the English Area to congratulate her on her remarkable performance. Throughout the event, competitors and attendees alike expressed their admiration, recognizing the sincerity, confidence, and emotional impact of her speech.

As the winner, Isabela has earned an extraordinary prize: an all-expenses-paid week in New York City, where she will participate in special events and meet fellow EF Challenge winners from around the world.
