THANKSGIVING “GRATITUDE ACCROSS TIME”

As an IB Continuum school, we celebrated Thanksgiving under the theme «Gratitude Across Time» with meaningful activities in all our sections: Tomasito, Primary, and Secondary.

At Tomasito and Primary, our teachers and students organized special civic moments, reflecting on gratitude and its importance in our daily lives. Through heartfelt messages, the youngest students expressed their gratitude for their families, friends, and community.

In Secondary, students from 8th grade to 2nd Baccalaureate, guided by their English teachers, explored the meaning of gratitude from the perspectives of Native Americans and pilgrims, promoting an international mindset that fosters understanding, respect, and appreciation of diverse cultures. Gratitude was beautifully described as «a word that connects us all.»

A creative twist captivated everyone’s attention during the event: robots from another planet visited Earth to learn about gratitude. These characters, with humor and warmth, shared insights such as, «I have learned about gratitude by saying ‘thank you.’ It’s not just data; it’s a feeling.»

To wrap up the celebration, the star «turkey» took center stage, delighting the audience. With a fun dance and an emotional speech, it declared, «Thank you to the farmers who raised me with care and to the chefs who will prepare me with love.»

From the Tomás Moro community, we wish everyone a Thanksgiving Day filled with gratitude and peace.

Como escuela IB, celebramos el Día de Acción de Gracias bajo el tema «Gratitud a través del Tiempo» con actividades significativas en todas nuestras secciones: Tomasito, Primaria y Secundaria.

En el Tomasito y la Primaria, nuestros profes y los estudiantes organizaron minutos cívicos especiales, acompañados de reflexiones sobre la gratitud y su importancia en nuestra vida diaria. A través de mensajes cargados de emoción, los más pequeños recordaron a sus familias, amigos y comunidad como motivos de agradecimiento.
En Secundaria, los estudiantes de 8º hasta 2º de Bachillerato, guiados por sus profesores de inglés, reflexionaron sobre el significado de la gratitud desde las perspectivas de los nativos americanos y los peregrinos, promoviendo una mentalidad internacional que fomenta la comprensión, el respeto y la valoración de diversas culturas. La gratitud fue descrita como «una palabra que nos conecta a todos.»

Durante el evento, un toque creativo capturó la atención de todos: robots de otro planeta visitaron la Tierra para aprender sobre la gratitud. Estos personajes, con humor y ternura, compartieron mensajes como: «He aprendido sobre la gratitud al decir ‘gracias’. No es solo datos, es un sentimiento.»

Para culminar la celebración, el «pavo» estrella hizo su aparición en el escenario, causando gran emoción. Con un divertido baile y un emotivo discurso, expresó: «Gracias a los agricultores que me criaron con cuidado y a los chefs que me prepararán con amor.»
