Halloween Interdisciplinary Festival… A Celebration of Creativity, Action and Service

ENGLISH:

As a proud IB Continuum School, last Friday, October 31st, our English and CAS Departments (Creativity, Activity, and Service) joined forces to host an Interdisciplinary Halloween Festival—a celebration that blended language learning, cultural understanding, and community engagement.

In the weeks leading up to the festival, English students at all levels participated in a series of creative classroom activities designed to strengthen reading and writing skills while exploring the theme of Halloween. These projects culminated in a Bulletin Board that filled our corridors with imagination and anticipation.

During the festival, students actively embodied the three strands of CAS:
– Creativity shone through the Halloween Door Decoration Contest and the Costume Catwalks by grade level.
– Activity came alive with the collaborative decoration of the secondary courtyard and stage, and the energetic Flashmob inspired by Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”
– Service was demonstrated through food and game stands, where funds were raised in support of Casa Hogar “Betania.”

All presentations, from the announcements to the rubrics used to select winners for “Best Door” and “Best Costume,” were conducted entirely in English—turning the event into an authentic language immersion experience.

We extend our warmest congratulations to all students for their enthusiasm, creativity, and teamwork, and our appreciation to the English and CAS Coordinations for their outstanding leadership. This event truly reflected the IB spirit—learning beyond the classroom, taking action, and making a difference.
